Carolyn Lane

Carolyn Barlow Lane is a lifelong resident of Caroline County, Virginia. She owned and operated the Bowling Green Western Auto store for 20 years. After selling the business in 1994 she came to Storke Funeral Home as a Secretary/Receptionist. In a short time she took over the sales of Storke Monument Co. After working in the funeral home for four years she decided to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science. In May of 1998 Carolyn graduated Summa Cum Laude from John Tyler Community College with an AAS degree. In 1999, she sat for and passed her National Conference Board and State Board Exams and became a Licensed Funeral Director in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has the distinction of being the first female Funeral Director and Embalmer from Caroline County. In December, 2001 she graduated Cum Laude from Averett University and was made Vice President of Storke Funeral Service, Inc.

Carolyn was one of the founding members of the Caroline County Chamber of Commerce and is the Assistant Treasurer and long time member of Bowling Green Baptist Church and became a deacon in 2015. She also served as Treasurer for the Bowling Green Rescue Squad for over ten years. She is married to John Lane and has two children and four grandchildren. She is also MeMa to John’s eleven grandchildren.
