March 20, 1934 - January 4, 2019
June Ann Sommers, 84, of King George, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 4, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born March 20, 1934, in Washington DC, a daughter of the late Harold and Olive Dunn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Sommers, Sr.; all six of her siblings, and son-in-law Thomas Robertson. June was a member of the Catholic Church and a homemaker. She truly enjoyed people watching; spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Richard Sommers Jr. and his wife Cindy, Deborah Nicholson and her husband Tommy, Kathleen Robertson, Susan Cornwell and her husband Mike; her grandchildren Ann Marie Bosserman and her husband Jason, Kelly L. Nicholson and his wife Monica, Michael P. Cornwell Jr and his wife Jessica, Amanda June Weston and her husband Patrick; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, January 8th at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, she was laid to rest next to her husband at Historyland Memorial Park in King George.
The family expresses appreciation to the staff of Memory Lane at The Carriage Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and compassion.
