Marilyn Victoria Reynolds Parnell, 73 of Ladysmith passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Henry Reynolds Sr. and Muriel Walsh Reynolds and her brother, Thomas Henry Reynolds, Jr. Survivors include her sons, Russ Parnell and Al Parnell; a devoted daughter in law, Angie Parnell (Russ’s wife); two sisters, Donna Strong and Winona Smitherman; her grandchildren, Kristen, Matthew and Brandy; her great grandchildren, Kendall and Ava and numerous nieces and nephew.

She was a longtime employee of the Caroline County School Transportation Department. Marilyn found great enjoyment and satisfaction in the many lifelong friendships she developed with her students, their families and her co-workers during her more that forty years of service. Some of her most cherished years were as a car attendant with fellow employee, “Big John” as they drove Maggie and Sophia to and from school.

The family will receive friends at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28^th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. A funeral will be held on Friday, March 29^th at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
