RICHMOND VA — Roderick Forbes Clodius, affectionately known as “Buddy”, passed on February 14, 2019 following a short illness and surrounded by his loving family.

A native of King George, Virginia he was born December 14, 1960, the son of the late Fred Clodius and Shirley Forbes Clodius of King George. He is survived by and was most recently married to Jacqueline Grizzard Clodius. He is survived by former wife, Amy Boyd Crawford (Brian); father to Brandon Clodius (Katie) and grandfather of McKenzie of Richmond VA; father of three daughters, Carrington Clodius (Justin) of Indianapolis, IN; Ashton Clodius Loughan (Jeremy) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Madison Clodius (Ryan) of Richmond, VA.  He is also survived by two sisters, Julie Clodius Talmadge (Scott) of Palmyra, VA and Terry Clodius Heaton (Jeff) of Baton Rouge, LA. Uncle to Alex Clodius Heaton (Kinsi) of Zachary, LA and Christen Heaton Campbell (Josh) of Geismer, LA, Katie, Kyle, and Carter Boyd of Fredericksburg, VA and Claudia, Will, Anna, Joey, and Elijah Owings of Madison, VA. He is survived by three aunts, Lois Forbes Nordai (Bill), Judy Forbes Keener of Hershey, PA and Dorothy Clodius Noble of Walla Walla, WA and his cousins Bill Nordai (Karen), Jeanine Nordai Dreher (Rick), Scott Keener (Rebecca), Karen Zipperick (Volker), Kenny Noble (Cindy), Vean Noble (Rita), Sue Noble Hungate (Bart) and Marge Oney (Major Thomas).

After graduation from King George High School, Rod attended college at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University at Blacksburg, VA. He later joined the US Air Force was stationed at Mountain Home US Air Force Base, Idaho where he ensured fighter jets remained mission ready. He was most recently employed as a Field Services Engineer for Offix LLC of Gainesville,VA. An avid fisherman, he loved the outdoors. He was active in his church until his recent illness and has many friends with whom he fished and traveled

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday March, 16th at 2 pm., at Trinity United Methodist Church, 9425 Kings Hwy., King George, VA 22485 with Rev. Susan Reaves officiating. Friends may greet the family following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to his favorite charitable organization National Fish and Wildlife Foundation or to Trinity United Methodist Church.”
