Andrew Myers, 51 years young, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. A son of the late Posie Henzel and Edwin Myers, he was born July 29,1969 in New York.

Myers was the President and CEO of Myers Research, a public opinion research firm, for almost 20 years, working on thousands of elections at every level and counting more than 600 Democratic officeholders as clients along with non-profit organizations and corporations. Of all his professional successes, Myers was particularly proud of helping to change the face of state government in Colorado, helping Democrats win control of the state House there in 2004 which has had long-lasting impacts on policy and Coloradans’ everyday lives.

Prior to founding his own firm, Myers served as Political Director of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, as a senior analyst at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, and began his political career as a Policy Advisor to two of Connecticut’s Speakers of the State House. He also was a contributing author to Voting in America and How the West Was Warmed. Myers was happiest challenging conventional wisdom, whether about voting behavior, a dinner order, scheduling a vacation or determining where exactly to sit on a beach and was proud to talk about his attendance at over 100 Grateful Dead shows during his younger days. He valued hard work and inspired deep loyalty among his friends and those with whom he worked. He attended Columbia University and proudly graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UConn.

Myers is survived by his wife Michele Klatka, of Pennsylvania, his children from a previous marriage Felix and Olivia Myers, grandson Enzo Myers, his sister Marckle Myers (David Richter), brother Christopher Myers, and stepmother Amanda Hamilton Myers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his eldest sister Lisa Myers.
