Dear Kelly & family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. He was a kind and gentle soul and I always enjoyed talking with him. I got to know him and your sweet mom through the Ladysmith VRS Auxiliary during the times I worked with the food crew. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.

Keith, Kevin and Kelly and family. I wanted to let you know how much knowing your parents meant to us. They were so kind and supportive in all the years I knew them at church. They were hard workers who got joy in serving others and set such fine examples of how to be loving Christian people. I counted on them for advice many times. They are truly missed. I met and volunteered with your mom and dad at the Ladysmith rescue squad BBQ fundraisers for many years. They were both kind, lovely people. I always enjoyed our conversations.

We loved him dearly. He was a most charming and generous man. His memory never failed him and his mathematical abilities were so impressive. We loved to visit him and hear him tell stories of Jane, his and her history, Bowling Green history and numerous other stories. He will be missed.

Kevin, I just heard that your father had passed. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I know you will miss him and know that God know best. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Love, Delois

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Madison. It was certainly a pleasure to be his nurse at HOAF. He left an imprint on my heart and I will miss him very much. Love, Katelyn

What a sweet man your father was. We were in the same Sunday School class with him. He will be greatly missed but it is comforting to know he is in heaven with his Lord and Savior.

I have so many fond memories of Mr. Madison from our church times growing up. He was a fine example of what a Christian man should be. From RA camping trips to playing bulldog, he was always kind and encouraging. Mr. Madison will surely be missed. He and your mom both touched many lives. From the time I arrived in Bowling Green as a new trooper until I was moved to Portsmouth, James was my "BEST" friend. Our joint member-ship in the Jaycees and our just hanging out together were some of my happiest days anywhere. Jane and my dear wife, Pat, were also best friends. An evening with them was wonderful and I miss them both. I'm sure James and Jane are together again and will continue to keep a sharp eye out for all their family. God Bless You James ! !

Keith, Kevin and Kelly, Well two people who were part of one of the greatest love stories I have ever known are together again. Tears flowed this morning when I knew that James and Jane were together again. I don't believe I have ever seen a man love a woman like your Dad loved Jane. More than that though was the courage and faith he exemplified when she went ahead of him. The depth of his love and his missing was so great, but he went on living and believing in his Lord, but your mother was never ever far from his heart. He was the personification of the word courage. Every time I saw him no matter how many years later he spoke of her and their life together. My heart just breaks for this fine gentleman to pass out of this world, but what a proud, proud legacy you and your children have to come from James and Jane Madison. There is no doubt there is a great gathering in heaven of the "Red Barn Crowd." Jeff and I are both praying for the Lord to keep you now and in the weeks ahead.

Keith, Kevin and Kelly, it is with a heavy heart I offer you my condolences. My memories of your dad go back to stories I was told of adventures he and my dad enjoyed growing up together in Milford. There is surely a celebration in Heaven as Jr. reunites with his beloved Jane and many old friends, including my dad. I envision a few beers, hugs and much laughter as they recall tales of fishing, racecars, ballgames, and a fallen gyrocopter! Your dad will always be one of my all time favorite people! Keith, Kevin and Kelly, I know that there is a big party in Heaven today with some reuniting of love ones, best friends and family. There is probably some scooter riding, Corvette driving and helicopter building or flying as well. Our Dad’s shared so much together and are finally together again. Please accept our condolences and know that Lynn and I are keeping you all in our prayers. The world was a much better place because of Junior, as he was always known to us. Hold the memories close and know that many of us loved James Madison, too.
