James E. Reamy, Sr., 85 of Colonial Beach passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018, at his home. Born in Washington DC, he had retired as a firefighter from NSWC Dahlgren. He had served as the Fire Marshall for the town of Colonial Beach and was a life member of the Colonial Beach Vol. Fire Department. He also was a state arson investigator and fire instructor. As an avid waterman, he enjoyed crabbing, fishing and oystering.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jane, his son, James E. Reamy, Jr., and granddaughter, Ashley Self-Rameriz. Survivors include his daughters, Angela Self (Fred (Happy)), Terri Dirscherl (Mark) and Janet Finotti; his grandchildren, Danny Gill, Jr. (Shona), Donald Finotti (Tiffany), Krystina Lefeave (Kyle), Olivia Dirscherl, Jessie Coker (Jeremy), Eileen Dirscherl, Lindsey Groot, Robert Wenninger (Jennifer), Brandon Wenninger, Bridget Burgess, Richard Wenninger (Jessica) and Krista Olsen; great-grandchildren Jonah, Kiyler, Jeremiah, Jasmine, Zachary, Olivia, Kevin, Rosalie, Violet, Kimberly, Jason, Tanner, Torry, Charlie, and Vincent.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 10th at 2:00 PM in the Colonial Beach Chapel (131 Third Street) of Storke Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Historyland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Beach Vol. Fire Dept.
