Mary and Family, So sorry for your loss. Treasure the memories that you have of John. Those memories will take you far. It is important to keep those memories alive. It is what he would want you to to do. For you Mary.., those 63 years you were married was quite a mile stone.. I am glad you are feeling better. and out of the hospital yourself. Stay strong with your recovery. I wish you and your family well. Tammy

When I went to work at Dahlgren in the late 60's, the stories about John were already legend. Such a lovely man too! For example, one day I was sitting in a draftman's chair in a very short dress. The chair fell over, and I could see no reasonable way to get out of that chair in that dress. So I waited, and waited, and sure enough, John sighed, got up and motioned to another guy to help him get the chair up, with me in it. You could always count on John. It was wonderful to know him, even for a short time.

My sincere condolences to llall his family. I remember John from when I first came to work at Dahlgren in 1966. We were both in TDP. I was just out of college. He used kid me about how I spelled my last name. He would always say I was spelling my name wrong with a "p". He always said the correct way to spell my last name was "Thomsonl". We never convinced the other to change.

Dear Mary, Just a note to say our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have such wonderful memories of our days working together at the Dahlgren Naval Proving Ground. Our times go back to August 1957 goes back o both John and both worked in the TDP I so appreciated all the dedicated work that John did in our small office. Wishing you peace and comfort. Mary, MY condolences on your loss. Often look back on our years as neighbors in "boomtown" and how kind you and John were when I was a newbie. I enjoyed our infrequent meetings and catch up during the passing years - John always was smiling and gracious and sharing of his recent experiences. May he rest in peace..

When I came to work at NSWC in 1971, John was an experienced engineering technician and talented graphic artist. We all depended on John's artistic skills and his amazing ability to get difficult jobs done quickly and well. Most of all though, I remember John's happy, helpful, friendly attitude. Even when work was urgent and the pressure was high, John was calm and quick with a smile. I think everyone in the Branch considered John a friend. He left this world a better place. Well done my friend!
