I\'ll remember LTG Menoher as a phenomenal mentor who was always engaged and engaging about what I was doing for the MI Corps. I was not alone. He knew how to bring out the best in his officers and their units. A superb leader who had a great vision for how to provide the best intelligence to senior commander and decision makers. My heart goes out to his family for your loss. We\\\'ve all lost someone very special.

LTG Menoher was a great mentor to me when he was a major and I was a 2LT thru Captain. We served together at OPO-MI and in DCSINT, USARPAC. In between, we spent several hours together in Vietnam when I was serving there and he was passing through enroute to his assignment in Cambodia. When I was retiring in 1994 after my final assignment at DIA, he graciously honored my request to preside at my retirement ceremony at INSCOM. He epitomized the Army motto, "Mission First, People Always." LTC (Ret.) Jim Rainey, MI

He was larger than life. He was the standard by which I judged all future senior Commanders. I will carry his memory for as long as I live.

A giant of an officer, both in stature and in his impact on a generation of Military Intelligence Officers. His professional excellence was matched by his dedication and sincerity, who genuinely cared for the Army and soldiers, and treated them both well.

Our hearts go out to Bebe and family and, we will keep them in our hearts and minds at these sad times. Paul was the President of the Association of our Community for many years. He was our wealth of information and our Rock. We will always remember him with fond memories of his good nature and fortitude. God Bless his soul...

LTG Menoher was one of my favorite general officers to have had the pleasure of working with in my 43 years in Army intelligence, both active duty and as a DA civilian. I respected his knowledge and wisdom and ability to tell the good from the bad. He will be missed.

LTG Menoher was the senior Army intelligence officer for the Gulf War, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, 1990-91. He led a great team of intelligence professionals in providing critical advice to the Army and joint leadership. That was just one of his key positions at critical times in the Army and the nation's history. Those of us in the middle ranks of government civil service admired his calm demeanor and his encouragement to get things right. After his retirement he was a great mentor to many in the military intelligence community. It's sad to hear of his passing. V/R Elmo C. Wright Jr.

My heart goes out to Bebe and share in her sorrow. I knew Paul for over 50 years since we were classmates and section mates at the Defense Intelligence University. It was 1968-1969, and we were both US Army Majors attending what was the equivalent of our U.S. Army Officer Advanced Course. After knowing someone for 50 years and having sporadic periods of very-close professional contact, you get to know someone very well. We were both born in July, Paul one-year younger in 1939. Through the years, we were not only “brothers in Arms”, but I felt Paul to be the brother I never had. Though he eventually significantly out ranked me, we remained close personal friends. My deepest condolences to Paul’s family. Jim Benvenuto, COL (Ret), USA

General Paul Menoher was among the finest MI leaders I ever knew and served with and for. Very sad to hear of his passing, His legacy is -- among other achievements -- a core of very good MI people who learned the fine points of compassionate leadership, exacting professional work, and absolute honesty, from him -- both directly and by example. His reputation as a "straight shooter" defined him in many ways. It will always be an honor to have called him my friend. Condolences to his exceptional wife, Bebe, and to his family. Montana6 out!
