To Mary Ann’s family: I met Mary Ann at the King George YMCA; we said hello and instantly became “gym buddies.” Mary Ann was so friendly and always had a smile on her face; she was beautiful on the outside and also on the inside. When I first met Mary Ann, I felt like I had known her all my life...that’s just how she made you feel. I hadn’t seen her at the YMCA for awhile, but always thought about her and wondered why I hadn’t seen her. She was in such wonderful physical shape from working out. I’m so saddened to hear of her passing and I’ll surely miss our gym visits. May God comfort her family during this sad period; I know that I will see her again one day!

Ida and I knew Mary Ann and Paul from Colonial Beach where we have a small beach house. We became friends several years ago and actually met each other at the July 4 fireworks display about 8 or 9 years ago. We also attend St. Elizabeth's Church, and usually on Saturday evening. Last year, we saw Mary Ann but not Paul. When we talked with her, she told us that Paul had just passed away a few weeks before! That was a shock. We nvited her to join us for dinner at the Dockside and she graciously accepted. Last Saturday Ida was attending Mass and heard mention of Mary Ann Tsompanas. Yesterday, we saw the obituary in the Washington Post. She was a wonderful lady and friend, We all will miss her (and Paul). WE;'re sure that St. Peter will have the gates open for her before she even arrives! Brian and Ida Hannon

Chick and I became friends with Mary Ann and Paul in Tarpon Springs. We spent many afternoons around the pool at cocktail time sharing stories, experiences and lots of laughs. Mary Ann often encouraged me to walk by inviting me to join her Saturday morning walking group. When I did go, she very patiently slowed her usual fast pace to keep me company. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. We will truly miss her warmth, compassion and that dazzling smile! Our most sincere condolences to you all. May her spirit be with you and carry you through this most difficult time. Jan

Sending love and condolences to Mary Ann’s family. Mary Ann and Paul were long term friends of Bill. They visited us in Australia and when we lived in Hong Kong plus we had a wonderful time staying with them at Eagles Landing in 2008. Mary Ann and I had a wonderful FaceTime chat in April when she still had energy. We laughed and cried about many things.Bless her, she was hoping for one more trip to Australia ... alas this is not to be. Am so glad our paths in life crossed. Rest In Peace our wonderful friend. United with Paul.
