My condolences to the family. I have such good memories of "Bud" from my days growing up in Dahlgren. He always had a kind smile, good advice and a quick wit about him.

Dearest Sally, Lisa,Ben. Ann, and all those who loved Bud. Myriam and I and our girls send you our most sincere condolences. We were blessed to have known and loved Bud. He was one of those rare people that one never forgets! He will be greatly missed but always remembered for his generosity, humor, and kindness. He sure did everything he could to leave this World a better place! I am so happy that Naime and Marc Anthony had a chance to meet and see him while he was still in great form! We know he will be received with open arms and will always remain in our hearts. During this bitter-sweet time, (as we will miss Bud but are happy he is in a better place),. Sweet "Nurse" Sally needs all the love and affection she can handle during this most trying and difficult time, and afterwards. She has set the bar very high for the younger generation of Ashtons! With love, Butch

It just won\'t be the same visiting St. Paul\'s and not getting a hug from Bud. He was my special friend since my teenage days. Will never forget our loyal Episcopal Red\'s fan. What a wonderful, wonderful man! Sally, our prayers are with you.

We are saddened to learn of Bud's passing, and offer condolences to his family. I coordinated with Bud many years ago on projects at NWL Dahlgren and he designed an addition to our home. We kept in touch occasionally. We remained friends. Sad news.

Dear Sally and family. It is difficult to find the right words to say at times like this. I always fall back on a lesson my daddy shared with me long ago. He said, "As long as we keep the happy memories of our loved ones alive and close in our heart, they can never really leave us." I have tested that many times over the years and found it true. I am sure you have so many wonderful, happy memories stored up surrounding Bud. Share them, listen to others, remember them in your heart. He will continue to be close to you that way. I am praying for strength, peace and joy for you at this time. Love, carol 😉

Luke and I have bundled a boatload of memories through our travels with Bud and Sally. Sharing their trips with them was absolutely our best of times. From the warm waters of the Caribbean to the cool waters of Alaska, where Bud said: “You have to see it and breathe it to believe it.” Those were just a couple of the majestic wonders from where we ventured with Bud and Sally. Our good and faithful friend, Bud, a.k.a., Wild Toad, rest in eternal peace. Your soul lights up heaven. From your forever friends, Cindy and Luke Miller

Dear Sally Please accept my sincerest condolences in your loss of Bud. He was a true friend. We met when I first came to work at Dahlgren in 1965 and he was a friend ever since. He referred to me as "LBJ" - Little Barry Johnson - and I always called him "Bobby Joe". He got me through my initial loneliness of being away from home for the first time. I shall always remember him. Barry

Ease your grief, he is not gone, for in your heart he lingers on. His smile, his laugh, his special way, will comfort you from day to day. You'll feel his presence in the breeze that dances gently through the trees. And it's his face that you shall see when you're in need of company. At any time you can recall, the love you shared...you saved it all, And in time, more than anything, you'll find peach in remembering. Keeping your family in the light!!
