Ruth Seal Pickett, 95, of Ruther Glen died Sat., Mar. 23, 2019. Born in Caroline County, a farmer’s wife, a school bus driver and a school cafeteria manager for 38 years. Ruth was also actively involved in the local garden club. She was the widow of Walter H. “Buck” Pickett. Survivors include two children, William “Bill” Pickett (Bixia) and Frances Carlson (Bob); four grandchildren, Shawn Pickett, Chris Pickett, Natalie Drawdy and Fei Gao; and ten great-grandchildren, Andrew, Brian, Catherine and Michael Drawdy, Tinsley Brooke, Chesney Ruth, Eleanor Raven, Elizabeth, Meredyth Pickett and Michelle Gao. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Carlson. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wed. Mar. 27, 2019 at Storke Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 Pm Thursday, Mar. 28, 2019 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ladysmith Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. 186, Ladysmith, VA. 22501.
