Jamie D. Hardway, 41 of Spotsylvania passed away on Wednesday, December 15,
2021 as a result of an automobile accident. Born at the US Naval Hospital in
Naples, Italy, he worked as a network engineer for the City of Fredericksburg, Va,
for his good friend, Neil Darling, at EtherSpeak, and most recently, at Businets,
Inc.
He graduated from Chancellor High School in 1998. Jamie was a martial arts fan,
and in his high school years achieved a brown belt in Taekwondo.
He was employed as a customer service agent for Capitol One, while working to
obtain his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Strayer College (now
University).
Jamie loved everything about computers and networks, building his own
computer systems for himself and others. His bosses often told his parents he
was one of the smartest people they knew. Jamie never gave up on a problem at
work until it was resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.
Jamie had a big heart, and would do just about anything for friends and family;
they knew they only had to ask.
He loved participating in computer gaming with a network of friends online, and
was also a huge fan of Japanese anime in any form.
Survivors include his mother, Celeste (aka Mindy) Hardway of Reynoldsburg,Ohio;
his father, Douglas (Doug) Hardway of Powell, Ohio; his brother, Kevin Hardway of
Woodside, New York; his paternal grandmother, Bernice Hardway of Fairmont,
West Virginia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Theodosia
Engle, and his paternal grandfather, Ivan Hardway.
Family and friends will gather at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral
home on Tuesday, December 21 st from 6:00 – 8:00 PM to remember and
celebrate his life. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date for friends and family in Ohio.
Friends are asked, if they wish, to bring any photos or other mementos they may
have, to display in his memory, for all to enjoy.
