Leonard Grover Sypolt, 77, of King George County, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at his home. Leonard was born November 7, 1944 in Preston County, Rowlesburg, WV to the late Maurice Peter Sypolt and Charlotte Marie Braithwood Sypolt. After graduating from High School, Leonard served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for and later retired as the manager of the ABC Wine and Spirit Store in Florida. Leonard is survived by his wife Betty Mae Sypolt. They were together for a total of 56 years and married for the past 51 years. Also survived by his children, Sonny William Griffith (Kimberly Ann Ashcroft), James Leon Griffith (Amber), Christina Marie Sypolt (Toni); sister-in-law, Carol Sypolt; grandchildren, Danah Michelle Elizondo (Abigail), Autumn Whisper Gray, Andrew Christian Griffith (Trianna), Christopher William Jett (Dakota Haynes), Jordan Matthew Griffith (Juliana); great grandsons, Steven Edward Davis III (Eva Marie Sweeney), Oscar Paul Griffith; 5 nieces and 3 nephews, to include Terri, Larry, Jamie, and Brooklynn “Peanut” Raley; and 2 great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Delores Ann Griffith, and his two brothers, George Alfred Sypolt and Ronald Maurice Sypolt. A celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local V.F.W. or American Legion Chapter.
