Dorothy Phyllis Parlee Hafford, 80 of King George, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital. Born May 22, 1942 in Massachusetts to her late parents William Parlee and Velma Pond Parlee, Dorothy (known to all as Nana) enjoyed reading mysteries and romance novels, knitting and crochet. She was an avid collector of everything “Dolphin” and over the years had amassed an incredible collection of dolls. Dorothy’s favorite TV show was Walker, Texas Ranger and her favorite movie was Footloose. She loved to cook for her family as well as bake and decorate cookies with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her true joy was spending time with family especially during the holidays. Dorothy is survived by her children Robert E. Barry, Jr. (Sherry) of Newport News, Deborah J. Barry of New Hampshire, Theresa A. Glass (Thomas) of King George, Joseph W. Shea of Massachusetts, John T. Hafford (Bonnie) of New Hampshire; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy L.V. Barry; sons Daniel K. Barry and Brian M. Barry; and brothers William, Fred, and Ronnie.
