Norma Lee S. Houck, 90 of Spotsylvania, Virginia, was a long-time resident of King George. She was born, raised, and married in West Jefferson, North Carolina. She passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg. She was married to her late husband, Everett Houck for nearly 51 years (preceding her in death in 1999). She attended Todd and Fleetwood, NC schools where she played basketball. She was a cafeteria manager at KGES and KGHS, and a pacesetter for Belk-Leggett stores in Fredericksburg and West Jefferson. She was a former member of Bald Mountain Baptist, West Jefferson and Montague Baptist and Two Rivers Baptist, King George, where she sang in the choirs and taught in the Sunday Schools. She loved flowers and gardening, writing, reading her Bible, and her grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Tommy Houck (Sheila), Carol Woodard (Danny), Sharon Nichols (Eugene) and David Houck (Kathy); sixteen grandchildren, Keith Houck, Pam Campbell, Dana Dixon, Rebecca Hester, Michael Nichols, Carol Perinis, Christi Wynn, William Woodard, Holly Bailey, Jonathan Nichols, Joy Breeden, Timothy Nichols, David Nichols, Brad Houck, Melissa Prusak and Brooke Washington; twenty-eight great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Nancy S. Houck of West Jefferson, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held on Monday, December 19th at 4:00 p.m. in the King George chapel of Storke Funeral Home.
