Donna Marie McGee, 74, of King George, VA passed peacefully February 12, 2023. Donna was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Woodbridge Virginia, graduating from Garfield High School. Donna’s love for country was exemplified by her career supporting Department of Defense weapons development and fielding in numerous positions. Additionally, she was a lifetime member of the Dahlgren Rescue Squad and previous employee of King George Sherriff’s Department. All who were close to Donna know that her volunteer work with the Rescue Squad was one of her passions and true calling. She was also well known for artistic skills; her paintings, ceramics, arrangements and ornaments will continue on as beautiful mementos of her love for nature and people. Donna was preceded in death by her father and mother, Arthur and Catherine Ham and grandson Kyle Jacob Cox. She will be sorely missed by her daughters, Dottie Scott (husband Clifton) and Renee Cox (husband Gary); grandchildren, Allen Cox, Emily Cox, Holli Scott, Sidney Scott; and great grandchild Tanner Cox. Her free spirit and fun-loving nature inspired all of her grandchildren to love a little stronger, laugh a little harder, try new adventures, and to live life on their terms.
