John Wayne "Pop" Collison Jr.

John Wayne Collison Jr., better known as Wayne or “Pop” of Partlow passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, June 23, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.  He was a retired project manager for Woodlawn Construction.  Wayne was a faithful and devoted member of Carmel Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Bowling Green Volunteer Rescue Squad and formerly served as Captain.  Wayne is survived by his loving wife Patricia Collison; four children Avery Collison (Wendy) of Partlow, Jessica Collison (Daniel Worley) of Mineral, Chris Collins (Danielle) of Yorktown and Cody Collins (Mary) of Henrico; one sister Deborah Collison-Sisco of Ladysmith; two brothers Frank Carneal (Thelma) of Milford and Dean Collison (Faye) of Mechanicsville; twenty one grandchildren Bronson, Harley, Hailey, Andrew, Logen, Landen, Christian, Caleb, Mia, Nate, Khaya, Kloe, Karley, Cash Wayne, Breyana, Kaelynn, Maddie, Landyn, Abigail, Caleb and Walker; two great-grandchildren Ivey and Jaxson and his devoted canine companion Victor.

The family will begin to receive friends at 12:30 pm on Thursday June 29th 2023 at Carmel Baptist Church. The Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by the burial service at the church cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Wayne.
