Mark Brian Potter, age 58, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away on June 23rd 2023. Mark was born on March 27, 1965 Norfolk, VA to Robert Potter Sr. and Ruth Hartnett Potter. Though born in Virginia, Mark was raised in Lansing, MI, where he made many lifelong best friends and cherished memories. Mark proudly served the United States Army from 1983-1985. After graduation from Basic Training in Fort Sill, OK, he was stationed in Germany in F Battery, 333rd Field Artillery. Honorably discharged from the military, he relocated to the East Coast where he worked as a boxing coach at the Dahlgren Naval Base. He went on to have one daughter, Erin, and was a devoted husband to his wife, Donna. Mark enjoyed a career of 23 years with Mary Washington Hospital. Though a pharmacy tech by trade, Mark had many talents and passions. A gifted poet, he enjoyed writing and storytelling, playing strategy board games, learning about history, and was passionate about music and books. His humor and thoughtful perspective on the world around him will be deeply missed. Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Potter. Surviving are his daughter, Erin Potter; mother and father in law, Don and Angie Myrick; brother, Robert Potter; sisters, Cathleen (Michael) Ruthruff and Colleen (Charles Simpson) Murphy; nieces, Amberly Myrick and Taryn Simpson; and nephews, Sean and Ian Potter. Services will be held at Oakland Baptist Church in King George, VA on July 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM. |
