Jeanette Powers, age 90, beloved mother of Diane Powers-Nock and W. David Powers, Lt. Col., USAF (ret.), wife of Lt. Gen. Winston D. Powers, USAF (deceased) departed from her earthly life August 30, 2023. She will be laid to rest following a 3 p.m. Chapel Service at Joint Base Meyer-Henderson Hall (JBMHH), in Arlington, Virginia. Born in New Jersey, October 1, 1932, raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York, Jeanette Powers was famous for her generosity and kindnesses. Active with the Officers Wives Club, she became a champion of numerous charities in support of US veterans, the disenfranchised and those with disabilities. She was deeply loved by her immediate and extended military family. An engaging conversationalist, Jeanette Powers was a masterful entertainer, hosting dignitaries and friends alike. Though she preferred her role as a home maker, always supportive of her husband’s advocation, Jeanette Powers became a world traveler visiting Jerusalem, Thailand, Barbados, France, Italy and Great Britain. She lived stateside in Washington, D.C., Illinois, Texas, Colorado and Virginia. She is survived by a daughter, son, their spouses, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren—Diane, David, Bob, Cateena, Rob, Dana, Mackenzie and Alexandra.
