Phillip Allen Taylor, 84, of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away on April 14, 2024. A native of West Virginia, he moved to the DC area in the early 1960’s. He worked as a mechanic for Sears Roebuck and Co and retired after thirty years of loyal service to his company, his co-workers, and his clients. After retiring he devoted himself to developing lasting bonds with his five grandchildren, then was blessed with three great grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and often called his daughters and grandkids to go look at the stars or watch a beautiful sunset. His porch was the place the family gathered, and all would spend hours on the porch swing enjoying his companionship. He found joy in simple pleasures such as football, fishing, watching golf, and playing cards. But his greatest joy was taking care of his family and their children. He is survived by his former wife, Jane Taylor Beecham and their two daughters, Angela Joseph (Philip) and Pamela Smith (Michael); sisters, Eleanor Young, Phyllis Glendenning, Christine Weaver, and Georgia Heimbroad; brother, George Jahoples; grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda Jane, Cecelia, Jessica, and Michael Jr.; great-grandchildren, Tessa, Alaina, and Evelynn; and a host of nieces and nephews. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Taylor and Beulah Arnett; and his siblings, Roy Carpenter, Berbie Taylor, Ferrell Taylor, Carl Edward Taylor, Ferrie Titus, Annabelle Corbin, Johnny Taylor, and James Jahoples. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Storke Funeral Home, King George. The family will receive friends for one hour prior. A private interment will follow the funeral service. Storke Funeral Home, King George is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.storkefuneralhome.com. |
