David Crouch, age 61, of King George, Virginia passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 in his home. David was born on November 4, 1962 in Columbus, Mississippi to Paul William Crouch and Peggy (Jones) Crouch. David grew up in Auburn, Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics. From 1990 – 1992 David attended Northern Illinois University where he earned his Master’s of Science degree in Quantum Physics. In 1996 David joined the United States Marine Corp Reserve where he served as an Intelligence Officer. In the following years David built a successful career in the US Department of Defense as a Scientist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, in Dahlgren, Virginia. In addition to Quantum Physics, Math, and other sciences, David was very passionate about and studied extensively the United States History, especially the Civil War era. He studied in detail the Civil War battles and often visited historic national parks and battlegrounds. David loved reading and studied other subjects like the Latin language, European History, classical Music, and American Literature. His favorite American poet was Edgar Allen Poe. David loved visiting museums and historic landmarks. David thoroughly enjoyed, and completed the research of his family genealogical lineage. He took pride in tradition, and in discovering his family ancestors. A gentle soul, David loved animals. Since very young, he grew up caring for his family pets. He continued to care for his pets throughout his life. David enjoyed being in nature and pursuing outdoor activities, especially camping and hiking in the mountains. David loved his family. His greatest love, the greatest pride and accomplishment was being a great father. He cherished his daughters: Kelsey and Iris and found the greatest joy being a father.
David was a very spiritual, religious person, an active member in the Saint Anthony of Padua Mission Catholic Church in King George, Virginia. David lived his life in service, gratitude, and optimism. He was deeply loved by his family, and many friends in his community whose lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, gentle heart, and irreverent sense of humor. David will be dearly missed by many family members and friends who genuinely loved, cared for, and respected him. David was preceded in his death by his parents: Paul and Peggy Crouch. David is survived by his daughters Kelsey and Iris and his brother Mark Crouch.
