Danny Lynn Wright

Wright, Danny Lynn, 64, of Milford, VA peacefully joined his family in heaven on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Danny was a lifetime member of Clifton Hunt Club where his passion for hunting and fishing never wavered. He enjoyed many years of playing softball with his friends. Danny enjoyed a good town hall dance where he lit up the dance floor with his smooth dance moves. Watching the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Nationals was a true joy of Danny’s, but nothing compared to the joy and pride he had watching his granddaughters and spending every minute he could with them; they were the true MVP’s of his life.

Prior to dedicating 24 years of service to VDOT, Danny took great pride in his work at SMI Steel.

Danny is survived by his lovely wife of 42 years, Kimberly. Married October 9, 1982, Danny cherished every moment he spent with Kimberly; always reminding her how much he loved and adored her.

Left to carry on his legacy are his son, Tyler S. Wright (Heather), his granddaughters; Alyson (Sweet Pea) and Katelynn (Ladybug), siblings; Wanda Spurley (Bryan), Bo Wright (Jackie), and Julie Parrish, and many nieces and nephews who he loved immensely.

Danny was proceeded in death by his parents; James and Edith Wright, his father and mother in law; James and Eugenia Cecil, and a treasured brother in law; Pollock.

The family would like to thank all of the compassionate nurses at Mary Washington Hospital, specifically those on 2 North, who ensured his time with them was valued.

The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral home on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Please dress casually and warm. Following the service on Friday, the family would like to join you for fellowship at Bowling Green Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clifton Hunt Club.
