James "Jim" Victor Morris

James Victor Morris, 78, of Colonial Beach, passed away on January 24, 2025.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, including time in Vietnam, and was a lifetime member of the Colonial Beach VFW. Known for his kind heart and straightforward nature, Jim brought joy to those around him. He enjoyed playing the slot machines and was actually quite lucky at scratchers.

For many years, Jim and his beloved wife, Charlotte, shared their love of community while running Shykes Ice Cream Shoppe. Together, they embraced retirement in Colonial Beach, creating cherished memories with family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Barney Morris; and sister, Gail Grace.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Charlotte Morris; his children, Robin Morris (Michael Robinson) and Matthew Morris (Jessica); his grandchildren, Anastasia Morris, Sophia Morris, Madelyn Morris, and Elliana Morris; and his brother, Michael Morris (Marcy).

A funeral service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 12 noon on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Storke Funeral Home, King George. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Historyland Memorial Park.
