Captain Sylvester "Dale" DeLaPorte

In loving memory of Captain Sylvester “Dale” DeLaPorte, born December 12, 1958; he passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Dale reached the rank of Captain on April 29, 2004.  He gave more than 20 years to the US Navy deployed on the James Madison and LaFayette class of nuclear ballistic missile submarines.  He continued to service his country as a Naval Civilian within The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) and the Missile Defense Agency at Dahlgren, VA.

His is survived by his eldest sister Susan Horn of Lottsburg, VA; brother Mark DeLaPorte of Kingsman, AZ; sister Sara Reeves of Huntsville, AR; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom Judith DeLaPorte and dad Robert DeLaPorte as well as eldest brother Robert (Bobby) DeLaPorte.
