Dwight Lawrence “Whitey” South, Sr.,74, of King George County passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home. He leaves behind his loving wife Pamela; children Jeremy, Dwight Jr., Tammy and Mark; several grandchildren; a brother, Randy; and two sisters, Janet and Barbara. A native of West Virginia, Dwight was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a Purple Heart recipient in Vietnam. He worked in auto parts sales and enjoyed a variety of leisure activities. He was a NASCAR fan, as well as one who enjoyed playing a game of cards or shooting pool. He also found pleasure in the outdoors, whether cutting firewood or camping. Whitey was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Burma South, and siblings Jimmy, Ross, Dixie, Johnnie and Bonnie. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Storke Funeral Home, King George Chapel, with Randy South officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Attendees are encouraged to wear casual attire.
