Julian R Madison

Julian R. “Sonny” Madison, 62, of King George, VA passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at his residence.

A King George native, Julian was the son of Maxine Madison and the late Julian Madison. He retired after 37 ½ years as a transportation operator for the Virginia Department of Transportation. In his leisure time he enjoyed bush hogging, watching drag racing and his antique car.

In addition to his father, Julian was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Luther Madison; and a sister, Sandra Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife Sheila; two sons, Charles Madison (Tanya) and John Madison (Barbara); three grandchildren, CJ Madison, Shelby Madison and Malia Madison; one great-grandchild, Maleah Madison; two brothers, Calvin and Reggie Madison; and two sisters, Joyce Holmes and Tammy Starkey.

A visitation will take place at 10 am Thursday, September 30, with the funeral at 11 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 10640 Kings Hwy., King George. A burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, 13457 Kings Hwy., King George.  Pallbearers will be: Franklin O. Rose, Jack Goss, Brian Catlett, Johnny Starkey, Danny Puffinburger, and Chris Saulnier with John Owens serving as Honorary Pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 10640 Kings Hwy., King George, VA 22485.
