Sally Kerr Morrison Budnick, 80, of King George County, passed away on September 25, 2021, in Richmond, Virginia. Sally was born in Washington, D.C., to parents Horace Truxtun Morrison and Eliza Ashton Morrison. Sally was preceded in death by both her parents as well as her sister Martha and her husband Robert (“Bud”). She is survived by her three children, Benjamin V. Madison III (Judy), Lisa Todd MacNevin (Michael), and Anne Truxtun Pride (John); grandchildren Daniel, Andrew, Stephen (Taylor), and Eliza Madison; Christopher and Michael (Gabrielle) MacNevin; Kristen and Martha Pride; two great-grandchildren, Brooke-Lynn Hedrick and Charlotte Miller; and one niece, Katherine P. Weitz (Eric). Sally worked as a secretary, mathematics technician, computer systems programmer, and computer systems analyst at the U.S. Naval Weapons Laboratory, Dahlgren, Virginia, for the Naval Space Surveillance System from 1965-1984. She retired to devote full time to her travel agency, King George Travel. Sally grew King George Travel into a premium business that continues under the aegis of her associate Teri Priebe. Those who knew her will best remember Sally for her love of God, family, and friends. She also took great joy in her “traveling family,” who accompanied her on hundreds of adventures worldwide. Although she visited many countries, the country she loved most was America—and those who protect her honor and freedom. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made in Sally’s memory to the SGT Nicholas C. Mason Memorial VFW Post 12202, P.O. Box 433, King George, Virginia 22485. A private graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, King George, Virginia. |
