Elizabeth Nuckols Lee

Elizabeth Nuckols Lee, 75 of King George, VA, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. Elizabeth was born in Charlotte, NC to the late Charles Lewis Nuckols and Virginia Louise Burton Nuckols. A graduate of King George High School, Elizabeth earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Mary Washington College.

She was a physicist for NSWC Dahlgren and retired in 1994. Elizabeth was a member of many organizations including the Patawomeck Indian Tribe of Virginia, the King George Historical Society, Gideons Auxiliary, The Order of the Eastern Star, and Shiloh Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. Elizabeth was also Co-Curator of the King George Museum, and taught home school history. She was the author of many books on genealogy and helped many families with their research.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of almost 57 years Kenneth Landon Lee, Sr.; children Keith (Heather), Mike (Susan), Stephen (Missey); 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Fitzhugh Nuckols (Gale), Lew Nuckols (Janet), Lessie Braziel, and Rita Woody; treasured friend and kidney donor Kathy Maples; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins and many dear friends. 

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her daughter Mirna Joy Lee Brown; siblings William “Billy” Nuckols, Charles Nuckols and Marilyn Robinson.

A visitation will take place from 2p-4p and 6p-8p Friday, October 15 at Storke Funeral Home, King George Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2p Saturday, October 16 at Shiloh Baptist Church in King George.
