Roberta “Bert” May (Zook) Rollins (August 12, 1940 – February 26, 2025) died peacefully in her Colonial Beach home after declining health. She was born to George Owen and Jessie May (Hoffman) Zook in West Middlesex, PA in Mercer Co. She had two siblings Eugene Elmer Zook and Edna Lee (Zook) (Cumberledge) Lobodzinski who have preceded her in death. She attended a two-room school house from 1st grade through 4th grade; graduating in 1958 from West Middlesex High School. She further educated herself by attending Humble Institute Airline school in Minneapolis, MN. Being too tall to work as a stewardess, she studied shorthand for other positions. She eventually started working for the government as a secretary in the Department of the Army and retired in 1996. After retiring from the government and moving to Colonial Beach, she worked for many years at R. L. Barker Plumbing until they closed their doors. On June 2, 1962 she married Henry Thomas Rollins, Jr., who has preceded her in death. She had two children, Dawn Lee (Rollins) (Inman) Gilhuly, her husband Robert David Gilhuly and Susan Joyce (Rollins) Wright. Susan also has preceded her in death. One step-daughter, Deborah Jean Spalding and her family. She had seven grandchildren: Christopher John Inman and fiancé Mellissa Dawn Shank, Robert Lewis Inman and fiancé Jessica Nicole Kirby, Michael Thomas Inman and his wife, Sarah Jo (Farley) Inman, Courtney Lee (Rollins) Williams, Shannon Noel Rollins, James William Wright, Jr. and Cody Ryan Wright. She recently accepted three step-grandchildren Crystal Jean Brown and Ashly Leanne Gilhuly and James Robert Gilhuly (preceded her by death). She had 13 great-grandchildren: Madison Nicole Inman, Thomas Henry Williams, Morgan Leigh-Ann Inman, Jaymee Yvonne Williams, Eil Ryan Wright, Kiley Jo Farley, Kaiden Adam Woodward, Piper Marie Wright, Kevin Wyatt Wright, Joyce Sue, Wright, Ashton Orion Inman, Hailee Nicole Inman, and Michael Allen Inman, two step-great-grandchildren, Madysin Jean Brown and Bo Garland Brown, one brother-in-law, Stanley Lee Lobodzinski and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many of which were able to spend time with her in the last few months of her decline. She was baptized into the Presbyterian Church, later becoming a member of the United Methodist Church and later started attending New Life Ministries. She and her husband were long-time members of the Old Dominion Boat Club in Alexandria, VA. She was a Life-time member of the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary where she served as a secretary. She was an auxiliary member of Company 1 Firehouse in Colonial Beach, VA., the Moose, and the Red Hat Ladies. She also served several years as the secretary-treasurer at Grace United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, brother, sister-in-law Delores Mae (Gavin) (Brooks) Zook, and sister, Sister-in-law, Joyce Alethea (Rollins) Payne and her brother-in-law Samuel H.
