Jeannette Nance Baylor of Tappahannock, formerly of Bedford, is a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Virginia since 1983. She has the distinction of being the first female Funeral Director and Embalmer in Essex County. Jeannette was the former co-owner of Marks-Bristow Funeral Home in Tappahannock until 2017. After a brief attempt at retirement, she decided to join the team at Storke Funeral Home. She is a member of Vauter’s Episcopal Church in Loretto and has one son who graduated from Virginia Tech and is carrying on the family tradition of farming.
