Although I never knew much about General Montgomery I would like to say that he was the most kind hardworking man that I ever met. I met him when my mom started working for him and his wife in their house in Austin where my mom cleaned their house. I was just a kid probably no more than 9 years old, when my mom started working for them and know is been almost 10 years and counting and my mom still cleans their house. I remember when he showed me his contribution to the United States Army and how much it fascinated me because of how cool and inspiring his accomplishments were. I like history a lot and so his career was very honorable and I respected him for everything he did for our country and respected him as a person. We only saw each other a couple of times but every time he was always an amazing person. I enjoyed when he thought me how to play with his dog jagger and thought me important events he was apart of. My time we could see each other I would never forget and forever respect him for everything he fought for and I want to send my condolences to him and his family because her wife is always willing to help our family. My condolences. Alexander Tovar

I’m one of the many soldiers that served under his command. I retired SFC in 2004. Not only was he a great infantry man he was also an excellent Logistician. We originally met in Germany during one of many field training excersises, he was visiting our command. He was the C.G . I will never forget durong my tourin Bosnia he presented me with a coin and thanked me for support as a supply sergeant for an Infantry Unit. He will be forever remembered by the soldiers that served under his command. He was a true soldier that sacrificed much for our great Nation and he was genuine a very good person that cared for all his troops regardless of race, creed or religion. He was a true example of what a leader should be.
