“Dear Family and Friends of Captain Dan McGlasson, Dan and I were shipmates in the Blue Crew of the USS Sam Houston (SSBN 609) in 1962 and “63. He was Supply Officer, and I was Diving Office and Damage Control Assistant. Our skipper was Captain William P. Willis, and the Executive Officer was John Wise. We were on out first deterrent patrol during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962. I remember Dan as a cheerful shipmate with a “can-do” attitude. I trust that he served our country throughout his Navy career with the same good will and positive attitude as he did in Sam Houston. May he rest in peace. Very respectfully, Albert J. Perry Captain USN (Ret.) Middlebury, VT.
