Pinky…that’s what we called you. To the man and a memory close to my childhood. We sure knew how to family-vacation. Florida was kind of our specialty. There was no pool or hot tub you, JR, and I didn’t own before we left. But we won’t mention the lodging a long the way.. that my Dad found to save us a penny in our conversion van travels of the late-80’s. That’s not even the real story, that story lived in a buffet special that wasn’t quite as full by the time we hit the exit sign. From crab legs, to shrimp, to a human size Mickey Mouse, to Motorized flamingos, or even angry burgers in Epcot. You and Barbara were both golden to two kids looking for the next adventure. We could laugh at just about anything. But if someone accidentally got locked in a bathroom or started a blender at 3 am, we especially found the humor in it all. You guys were there for many moments in my life… multiple graduations, recitals, baby showers, there was always a card and a warm smile. Lifelong friends. Over the years, I’ve always asked about you after Moms soup drop. If I know anything about you, you’re smiling that crooked smile in heaven while moving your shoulders and your eyes just got smaller from finding something not-so-funny, funny. We will meet again, Pinky. Thank you for your friendship, mentorship (yes, you were teaching me things in my life), sentimental moments, and mischievous shenanigans. God took a fun one home to the kingdom. You had such a big heart! So enjoy your heavenly recliner, oversized TV, and the love of all your pets that went on before you did. Dial back the people-watching. We will meet again.

Carroll Ray left a permanent imprint on the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. In times of great sadness, look back and take comfort in all of the beautiful memories you made. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during your time of loss. May God’s mercy give you comfort knowing that his long-suffering has ended, and he is at peace in heaven.

Barbara, Our condolences and prayers to you and your family. Carroll Ray was a wonderful, kind and caring man and a good friend. He was also a faithful servant to the Lord. He could always be counted on to serve at Bowling Green Baptist and will be missed by our church family and his friends and family. It was truly a pleasure having him as our friend.
