We have just learned of Brenda’s passing. We are three Mary Washington friends, currently at the 50th MWC reunion in Fredericksburg. It is with shock and sadness that we learned of our good friend’s death. We all lived in Trench Hill senior year where Brenda was the Resident Director. Mary Ann lived with Brenda upon graduation in the summer of 1972. She is remembering the wonderful time they had together in Richmond. We each have such fond memories of our times at Trench Hill together…Brenda’s infectious laugh and terrific sense of humor. She forever will be in our hearts and memories. With condolences to the family, Mary Ann Henderson, Jan Donaldson, Ellen Taylor-Powell

I am thinking now how so many good years have gone by seemingly so fast. And how Brenda and I grew up so close in age to one another. Her oldest brother, my father, and our family would travel 50 miles, such a long ways back then, to visit. It was a great childhood I think for the entire family of 6 boys and the two girls! All of our families together. That was now at least my introduction to strong family bonds. I will miss her in so many ways but especially in memories of the early family days! May you get a beautiful set of golden wings and Rest In Peace. Love R. Steven Wirt

I am praying for Brenda’s family . I met Brenda at RMS just as I was completing my breast cancer treatments. She was always smiling and happy. Brenda was a terrific supporter of everyone she met. I will miss her smile, her laugh and her quick wit. God must have a very important purpose for this Angel. Brenda – hoping you are now at peace – prayers for you and the family.

I want to offer my sympathies to Brenda’s family and friends. I first met Brenda when I was seven at then Marsh Memorial Methodist Church at the corner of Leesville and Greenview Roads. Her parents were great friends with mine (Kenneth and Edna Johnson). We both went to Brookville High school.
