Dear ones, My daddy taught me long ago, that as long as we keep the happy memories of our loved ones alive in our heart, they can never truly leave us. I have tested that many times over the years and found it to be true. I am sure you have many happy memories. Share them with each other. Laugh, cry and remember. I have also come to realize that we can shed tears because our loved one is gone, or smile because they lived. We can cry and feel empty, or we can do what I am sure Verda Mae would want… smile, open our heart, love and go on. There are so many things you must be feeling today. I trust that what you feel most is loved, remembered and held close to many hearts, because you are.

My heart goes out to Lou and David during this time. Verda May was my 2nd Mom since 3 yrs old growing up in King George. She was a very kind lady and will be remembered fondly by many and for me I will also think of special times like enjoying her home made pickles (the best ever) and Sundays eating crabs with the Thompsons.. I will also add that Newell and their dear friends are happy to be with her again. Love, Julie
