Dear Kathy and Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. I saw the notice in the Free Lance Star. I believe we were in Jobies together in Bethel #19 and attended Robinson Secondary together. May you find peace in the memories of your mother. Jill (Proctor) Bates

Betsy was a neighbor from my early childhood in Wesleyville, PA. Our last contact was probably 1952 when her family moved to Silver Creek, NY Betsy’s father took her brother Allen and I on Piper Cub plane ride at Erie Airport. I’ve lived in Stafford County since 1992. Sorry to say our paths never crossed since the early 1950’s. Semper Fi, Martin D. Smith Master Sergeant, USMC ret.

I will definitely remember your mom\’s sly humor and generous spirit. She brought such joy to those who knew and loved her. I am perhaps most indebted to her for tolerating our seventh grade sleepovers and baking amazing goodies for gobs of giddy, gabby, sleepless girls. I saw how hard she worked, how selflessly she gave, and how fully she loved each of you. Her spirit truly lives on….

Betsy was such a good, kind person. She sat with our backrow people at Shiloh Baptist Church. I was sitting on that row this morning thinking about her. She served as the church treasurer for a long time. Luke took over from her. She was a wonderful singer and actress in our church plays. She played the beautiful role of Elizabeth in one of our Christmas plays. She and Bill are now together and enjoying eternity forever. Our condolences to the wonderful Altman family. Cindy and Luke

Betsy was a dear friend for decades. As was Bill! I’m glad they’re both together again, LAUGHING at their secret jokes! Kids, Remember You Are Loved. Love me.

Thinking of all the kids and sending prayers. Your mom was amazing lady and passed on her work ethic and curiosity for learning to all of you. Peace and love.
