I worked with David at NSWC. We didn’t work for the same Branch but I had the privilege of assisting him with documents, and he was always so pleasant to work with. He was one of the nicest guys I knew at NSWC. I was so sad to hear of his passing. I always thought he was older than he was since he was so mature for his age. Actually he was my son’s age. Please accept my sincere condolences. David is going to be missed by many.

Terri, Mallory, Laura, Mr. and Mrs. Gallagher, I’m still reeling from the news of David’s death. I’m writing to extend my condolences to all of you. I heard the funeral and visitation were both jam-packed, and I’m not surprised. David was beloved and a friend to so many people. I’ve known David most of my life, and admired his courage, his sense of humor, and his kindnesses. He loved his family, and took care of people. I also remember his intelligence and keen mind. I’m sad the world lost such a loving and decent soul, and I hope his memories are blessings to all of you. -Kathleen Knight Abowitz Oxford, Ohio

I am so saddened that you and the world have lost such a sweet, kind soul. One of my favorite quotes for this tough time, “May you find the strength to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today.” Know that all of you friends and family are thinking of you all and remembering Dave with a smile on their hearts.

David was my college hall mate and friend of 32 years. We did so much together. He was the nicest, kindest and most decent person one could know. To be around him, one felt a sense of calm and tranquility. Yet he was fun to be with and full of laughs. Despite the deep pain I feel from his early departure, I consider myself most blessed to have had such a wonderful friend in David Gallagher. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Terri, I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. He and I worked together for many years, and he was absolutely great. So helpful and kind in so many ways. He was a true friend. And he loved you and the girls very much; you were the center of his world. He often shared stories about the girls as they were growing up. He was truly one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I will miss him.

I have known Dave since the late 80s when we shared an office, and worked closely with him in recent years. So sad to hear of his passing. He was such a kind, sweet soul. The photo chosen perfectly conveys his personality…genuine warmth and a ready smile. Praying that his family finds peace and comfort.

Dear ones, What a truly wonderful picture of David! And one that will go right along with what I am about to share. Many years ago, my daddy taught me that as long as we keep the happy memories of our loved ones close in our heart and share them with others, they can never really leave us. I have tested this lesson and it is true. I am sure you have lots of happy times to recall and share. Meanwhile, you are all in my prayers for strength, peace and joy. Love, carol 😉
