“Mr Reds” was a very special person in so many lives. I was just a teenager when I remember Cathy telling me about this guy her mom had met. After they were married, I remember going camping at Lake Anna; Ricky, Cathy and I riding in the camper with them and listening to Charlie Rich. I have Charlie Rich on my playlist to this day because of those days. Through the years we played cards, went crabbing, fishing, and went to the fish fry’s at their house. Always a lot of laughs and a few lessons here and there—he loved to teach and he knew a lot about whatever it was that might come up. When I had my kids, they all loved him too—he paid special attention to them. Best of all was his friendship with my father. The two of them were thick as thieves at the campground; if you saw one you saw them both. In my father’s final days, Mr Reds and Catherine were right there, supporting us even though I knew they were hurting too. RIP Mr Reds-give my father a hug from us.
