I am so sorry to hear General Scales has passed.I have a photo of him when I was in Germany with 1/9 Artillery 3rd Infantry Division. We both went to Vietnam around same time and a few years ago I ran into him on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. He was the finest officer I was around.A nice man with no ego and a great leader.I am so saddened by this.My condolences to family and RIP SIR Dave Kline .First Air Cavalry Division Vietnam 68/69

Rosemary and I met Bob and Diana in 1966 at Fort Benning. Surprisingly, we found that we were assigned to the same battalion (1/9 FA) in Germany. That was the beginning of a lifelong friendship. We will always cherish our times together, particularly that first tour in Kitzingen. Bob was the consummate soldier, scholar, story teller and friend. The world and our lives are lessened with his passing. Earl and Rosemary Finley.
