I worked with “Big John” at Peumansend Creek Regional Jail. He was a remarkable person, I enjoyed our talks, I learned a great deal from those conversations.

Diane and family, We are so sorry to hear about Chief Anderson’s passing. I remember him coming to Colonial Beach school, late 70’s, to talk to all of us about the dangers of drugs and then when I worked at Freeman’s he always had someone watching when we had to close up at night, especially when it was just us girls locking up. I probably didn’t think to much of that when it was happening, but as an adult I have thought of it often and fondly. A simple act of caring and looking out for others. I didn’t really know him other than these few interactions, but anytime I heard his name, I always thought of him as caring and thoughtful person.
