Happy memories of running into Maggie and friends in Rome waiting for flight home. Rita Vokes & I shared some wine and laughter. Maggie was friend and colleague. Rest in peace my friend God Bless.

Maggie was my squadron commander at Yokota AB. A fine leader and mentor in the AF Nurse Corps. I’m sad to learn of her passing.

On behalf of the Society of Air Force Nurses, please know we are mourning with you the death of our friend and colleague, retired Colonel Marjorie “Maggie” Garten. She was a remarkable woman who made such a difference in the lives of so many others during her own journey through life. Visitation & Funeral Service Information
A viewing for family and friends will be held March 10th from 6 – 8PM at the Vale United Methodist Church, 11528 Vale Rd, Oakton, VA 22124. A memorial service will be held on March
11, 2025, 1PM at the same. Her internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date this summer.
