Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss….you don’t know me but I read your husbands obituary in the Free Lance Star with interest….my father was killed aboard the USS Bennington in the Navy during the Korean War ….my mother has a photo of my father with his two close friends, one being a Tom Smallwood ….. my mother thinks that your husband may have been my fathers friend and would love to connect with you…. she was never aware that my father’s friend was living in this area….we would love to hear from you…. my mother can be reached at [email protected]

Barbara and family, Dale Weldon and myself are very sorry for your loss.Tommy was one the greatest mentors of my life when I was younger.It was a great pleassure to have known both of you.My family will continue to keep all of you in our prayers.Please know I believe Tommy will have a special place in heaven and will welcome all of us when our time comes. Tom and Janet I am so sorry for your loss I just saw this obituary on Facebook. I didn’t know Tom’s dad but if he was anything like his son he was awesome. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, 1pm, at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Oak Grove, VA.
