I remember jeff during my tour in VP-10 back in the late 70’s in Brunswick maine. He was my boss in the tactics division and I enjoyed his personality and work ethic.. while I have not kept in touch since those days I remember him well.

I was very sorry to hear about Jeff’s passing. As a new member of the NCNO, everyone was so welcoming, but I fondly remember how gracious he and Patsy were to me and my fiance. Our sincere condolences to the Burns family…

I was saddened to hear of Jeff’s passing. As a fellow military retiree, although I had been an “enlisted swine” – not his words, of course, but a common insider joke between friendly enlisted and officer corps members – he often gave me pointers on navigating the ins and outs of military retiree benefits and opportunities. Although he could be gruff once in awhile, he consistently had a positive outlook on life and living that were inspirational to me and I’m sure to others in the Norton motorcycle community.

Jeff, we’re going to miss you and your wicked sense of humor….You’re with Patsy now so I know you are both very happy…Rest In Peace, my friend. Al

So sad to hear that Jeff passed away. I met Jeff in 1993 when I joined the Nation’s Capital Norton Owners. I was on active duty as a Naval Officer assigned to the Pentagon. Jeff and I hit it it off because of our common sea service ties and of course the long and deep interest in the Norton motorcycle. Over the years we had several sea story sessions talking of ships, airplanes, liberty ports, and sailors. Later we served several stints together as NCNO Club officers. Of course I also became good friends with his wife Patsy. They were quite a pair and hosted the club countless times for meetings, Christmas parties and were large parts of two National rallies that NCNO hosted. Jeff loved his family, his Norton and his Norton friends. We were an integral part of his life as he and Patsy were part of ours. An era has passed in NCNO. I want to pass my deepest sympathies to his entire family and friends. The world has lost a good guy and I have lost a friend. Fair Winds and Following Seas to Jeff Burns.
