Albert’s grandparents and my parents were very close in my early years. I remember all playing together at Aunt Myrtle’s, his grandmother. I am praying for Joanne and her children and extended family. Also praying for Robert and Cindy and their families as well. I feel confident that I will see Albert again in Heaven. God Bless You

I worked with Al Young at the Spotsylvania Career and Tech Center. Al was loved by his students and was always quick with a smile or good word. He coached at Courtland High School during their state champ runs in the 80’s. A true educator and coach.

My thoughts and prayer go out to Mr.Youngs Family. Mr.Young was the best instructor I had in school at Courtland High. After I graduated I still kept in touch from time to time. Mr. Young never changed, always smiling and laughing and talking about cars and Softball. I wish him eternal rest and for him to know he made a difference in alot of our lives. You will be miss Mr. Young…

Al was a great friend, fellow teacher and coach. Al was very well liked, loved and respected by our players at Courtland & Spotsy. It was an honor for me to have known him and coach alongside him. I learned a lot from Al and always appreciated his advice plus wisdom not to mention his friendship. He helped me become a better coach and person. I always enjoyed my time with Al and will fondly remember our fishing trips, scouting trips, on field coaching, talks, etc. He was such a good person and everyone liked spending time with him. My sincere condolences to Joanne and Al’s entire family.

I remember sitting with Al and Steve in what is called liar’s corner during football games. He was a sweet person and made anyone he came in contact with feel welcomed. He gave our son advice on playing football. He was Dean’s coach and one of his mentors growing up. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Rest in Peace Al. Our hearts and prayers go out to Joanne, Dawn and Bart on their lost as well as his other family members.

Mr. Young was one of the best teachers I ever had. He inspired all his students to learn about everything they can and you must love what u do. He helped me get a apprenticeship at parrish body shop in town. I stayed intouch for two years after I graduated from high school. Then I went into the military and lost contact with him. He will be missed by everyone. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Mr. Young was such a special person. I enjoyed every visit with him. He always greeted me with a smile. He certainly challenged me at times but we all got through it together. He will truly be missed by many. The world lost a bright light on Sunday.
