Danny was such a no nonsense, funny guy. His humor was infectious! I am sure he has had the angels laughing since he arrived in Heaven! It is with a heavy heart I offer my condolences to Hunter and David and the Smith family. Danny will not be forgotten.

I am saddened to learn about Danny. I had such a crush on him as my best friend’s brother when I was young. He was a good friend of our family and helped my Daddy a lot around the farm. It was a standing joke at the lunch table when we would try to guess “how many home made rolls did Danny actually eat?” My mom always fixed a homecooked hot ‘dinner’ at lunch and always spoiled the men folks. It was a pleasure to note of his love for horses for Danny and I would ride our horses a lot of afternoons after I got home from school. I’d like to think he got his love for horses through those experiences. I personally thought it was great that he and I would ride horses only to find out that his objective was to ride up Cedar Fork Road to court another friend. lol So many stories I have. All of this was back in the late 60’s so then he went to Vietnam along with others that we knew. My cousin Jimmy Kidd reminded me recently of what happened to him while he was in Vietnam. Danny was getting off of a helicopter after a run and low and behold he spotted Jimmy who was getting on the same copter. What a reunion you know that day in Vietnam! To see someone from HOME. Well, now Danny, you are really home. All of us will miss you but now we know that you are taken care of in the Good Lord’s Hands. My husband and I extend our sincere sympathy to the family and wish you lots of good memories of this strong hero who served our country well in his day. God bless you all. A loving friend, Gay Weston (Houston)
