I met Russell Warren in 2017 when I was appointed to Colonial Beach United Methodist Church as a lead pastor. My wife and I were invited to the 65th Anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Warren that year. I have not seen such a long time of togetherness in the case of this wonderful couple. Whenever I visited his house, I witnessed God\’s abundant blessings over them, not only because they have so many great-grandchildren but also because they were so filled with lots of laughter. They always had a smile contagiously. It is true how Mr. Warren laughed every two or three minutes. I was told he was very dedicated to our church and very actively took part in United Methodist Men and various small group ministries. I didn’t anticipate that it was the very last time for me to see him on February 19th just before I went to South Korea for a three-month renewal leave. I promised that I would visit him again when I returned and am so sorry to not see him again. I strongly believe that Mr. Warren is now with God the Father in Heaven and is laughing with angels and all the saints in their conversation. I will always cherish the times I got to know him. I’m praying for all his family members, especially Mrs. Warren to receive peace and healing through our Lord’s infinite love.

Uncle Russ was always there for me growing up. I am grateful to have been able to visit with him days before his passing. You will truly missed by all you have touched and your wonderful family. You always brought happiness to those around you with your infectious smile and laughter.
