At my house we call him “Grandpa Kenny”, or “Mr. Kenny”. He has been such a devoted friend over the years! He has come on the double each time he was needed over here; when I found my mother on the floor, he came right away; when I discovered a rotted-out beam that was supposed to be holding up the roof of a structure out back, he came right away and got it replaced (by himself!) within two hours; when I got my riding mower stuck in a ditch, he had me sit on it to drive, and pushed that sucker right back up onto the lawn. Took him all of ten seconds to analyze the problem, see a sane solution, and execute. He raised his sons and stood by his wife their entire married life. I loved him like a brother for as long as I’ve known him. He will for sure be missed by ALL of us. Michael, Kenny, Jr, Richard—-and all your beautiful brides — Remember You Are Loved. And that goes triple for our Beloved Joyce.

In appreciation for his service in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967, I am posting the photo of Kenneth we display and will continue to display every Veterans Day at Shiloh Baptist Church. I have known Kenneth all my life, beginning at Shiloh Baptist Church and then Shiloh Elementary School, riding the same school bus, attending the same classes, and in recent years back at Shiloh Baptist church. May Kenneth rest in eternal peace, and may God comfort Joyce and his sons during this sad time.

I remember the Stephens family really well. His sister and I went to school together. I am sending my deepest sympathy for their loss. Donna Rose Loan
