I met Henry in 1976 at a Regional Softball Clinic. I was selected by him in 1977 to work the Regional Slow-Pitch Championship in Richmond Virginia where I really got to know Henry during that time. He always made fun of me and my New York accent, and I made fun with him the way he said \”OUT\”. He would say \”OOOT\” or something like that. Henry was great for the game and was a great teacher and mentor. His demeanor was always positive with umpires. I saw Henry at Nick Cinquantos funereal and had some laughs about the past years, another great umpire and a dear friend. We will miss Henry but will cherish the many times we share. RIP my friend.

Julie, I can’t begin to put into words the sadness I’m feeling at this time for you and the family. Henry was the light of your world and we were blessed that you shared him with us. I’m here for you always. I love you beyond measure and I know God will comfort you in the days and weeks that follow. I leave you withe these words: “and when you miss me most, remember that i have only built a house next door. a single breath away. we can whisper through the walls. and send love notes in the shape of stars and sunsets and the way that the light glistens on the water just so. and although things are hard for you now, i am not far away. i am absent only in flesh but my spirit is dancing with the heavenly ones. we will reach each other once again. i promise. just not yet. find laughter again, okay? find music and purpose and ways to feel alive. we are only separated by a glimmer of time. an interval. take comfort. i have only built a house next door. ~ ‘next door by ullie-kaye, Ullie Kaye Poetry I love you Jules. Henry, go rest high on that mountain. 🧡

I’m so sorry for your loss. Danny and I knew Henry from softball. All the meetings at Oklahoma, and some clinics. He was a very polite man, and knew his softball. Keeping you and your family in my prayers. (Danny passed away in 2016). 🙏🙏

Julie and family – I am so very sorry for your loss. I had met Henry only a couple of times but never had the pleasure to sit and talk to him. He sure was a lover of life – especially on the ball fields. Julie – I know that you have faith that will help guide you on this path. I pray that you and your family feel the love and care of those around you. Praying for peace for you.
