One of the best cats we got came from WFF in December 2013 As a thank you and to help the non profit we’d drop off paper towels, toys, cat food etc in December each year. We even had an onry cat show up in our yard pestering our cats and she was willing to take it. It always amazed us how full her own personal home was with cats and kittens and marveled at how it all made a difference. So sad to learn of her passing and the cat community is definitely affected by it. Sympathy and prayers to all her family as we know she’ll be greatly missed.

First my children did some volunteer work for Wendy. We also tried to help where we could over the years. 2005 we became fosters for a mama and 5 newborns. We also became foster fails. We adopted that family of 6. Wendy helped us with everything they needed in the beginning. We know Wendy has been lovingly met on the Rainbow Bridge by all 6 of those wonderful fosters as well as any others who were once in her care. Wendy, you will be missed by more than just humans, the cats will miss you too.

You will be greatly missed Wendy. Thank you for the 2 lovely cats my adopted from you. You were a champion for cats in Westmoreland County. You family and friends as well as your feline friends will miss you. I know you are taking care of the cats in heaven. Rest In Peace. You were an angel here on earth and now you have earned your wings in heaven. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.

I adopted by orange kitten Harley from Wendy. He’s about 12 now and he likes to Meow loudly while we sleep. Wendy was a wonderful lady who cared deeply for cats and kittens making sure they were adopted into good homes. She will be missed by so many in this community. We can only hope that someone will continue her legacy.

Wendy certainly was one of a kind! Nobody knew cats better than she did. Surprisingly, few people know new people better than she did. Sam, what a beautiful tribute to your mom. She loved you so much! I love the picture that you chose. It totally captures her joyful and giving heart. She will be greatly missed by so many four-legged and two-legged friends. 🥹

Because of Wendy, many of us are learning to be better people than we thought we could be. May her mission continue as her People carry on the work and her Feline Friends preserve the memory of their champion. RIP, dear Wendy. You have touched many, many lives and leave us with a true meaning of kindness, dedication, good humor and persistence.

My deepest condolences to Wendy’s daughter, family and dear friends. Wendy and I met when my husband Danny and I moved here to Westmoreland Shores. We connected through our mutual love of cats and our friendship grew fast. During my husband’s illness and death, she was a comfort to me, sharing many wonderful conversations, mostly her listening, and giving me comfort during the darkest days. My last visit with her was so full of laughter and love, holding hands, and cherishing each other. Wendy was a special soul, always sharing her many years of experience to help make me a better “cat person”. We all are better for having known her and touched by her love. Rest in peace and it’s not goodbye, we will see each other again. Much love 🐈‍⬛🐾❤️
